It centres on themes like environment, landscape, archaeology, and interdisciplinary ways of working. See specific website pages.
-
Where does it take place?
The residency programme takes place in the ancient and historic village of The Palace, in the parish of Birsay. It is situated on the St Magnus Way pilgrimage route on the Atlantic Ocean and amidst farmlands and sites of archaeological, historical and social importance in Orkney, accessible by foot and vehicle.
-
What facilities are available?
Accommodation is 5-star self-catering (single rooms) and is fully equipped, including wifi. Work spaces include ‘clean’ and ‘dirty’ spaces.
-
Are service dogs and pets welcomed?
Accredited service dogs are welcomed. This is essential for us to provide individuals with disabilities equal access to residency facilities.
We would like to be able to accommodate pet dogs, but unfortunately cannot do so due to potential disruption to live/work conditions for other residents.
