What is the Group Residency programme?
The Group Residency programme is a supportive environment for creative practitioners and researchers to research, practice, and collaborate. Residents participate in workshops, individual work, and multidisciplinary projects.
The programme is based in Collemacchia, Italy, and another programme is held in the Orkney Islands of Scotland.

Who can apply to the programme?
The programme is open to creative practitioners, curators and researchers of all disciplines and at all stages of their careers, from any country.

What are the costs of the programme?
The programme fees vary depending on the length and location of the residency.
The Residency Programme is operated on a non-commercial cost-covering basis, and is financially supported by The Museum of Loss and Renewal in order to keep fees low.
We do not have external funding for this project, so regret that we are unable to offer assistance with fees, travel, production costs or other subsistence. Typically, successful applicants source funding by applying to their national arts funding bodies, personal fundraising, or through academic institutional support.Formal Letters of Invitation can be provided to assist in this process. Applicants are encouraged to apply early.

What is the application process?
The application process includes briefly describing your motivation, and the relevance to your work. You are asked to provide documentation of your work and a curriculum vitae.
References are not required.

What are the deadlines for applications?
The deadlines for applications vary depending on the timing of each residency. Please refer to residency web pages.

What are the selection criteria?
The selection criteria are based on the quality of the applicant’s work, the strength of the proposal, and how the applicant may contribute to the programme community.

What is the accommodation like?
Residents are accommodated in very good quality accommodation and use a range of working spaces.

What is the food like?
Group Residencies are fully catered, and excellent meals are provided by our wonderful local cook.

What is the transportation like?
Residents are responsible for their own transportation to and from the town closest to the residency programme. Shuttle transport is provided from there to the residency location, and back to the nearest town.

What are the health and safety considerations?
Residents are required to arrange their own insurances and to sign a straightforward waiver of liability.

What are the cancellation policies?
The cancellation policies vary depending on the residency session.
